That is why Collina Luxury Relais in Clusone is opening its Afternoon Tea<\/strong>, the traditional English afternoon tea served by the lit fireplace, with a tiered stand brought to the table and a selection of loose-leaf teas to choose at leisure. <\/p>\n\n

The first date is Sunday 29 November 2026, from 4:00 pm<\/strong>. Booking is required and there are two options: Afternoon Tea at \u20ac30 per person and Champagne Afternoon Tea at \u20ac50, which adds a welcome glass of Champagne. <\/p>\n\n

How it works<\/h2>\n\n

The service revolves around the tiered stand, which arrives at the table already arranged. The savoury tier holds the finger sandwiches, cut thin as English custom requires; then come the freshly baked scones, to be split by hand and filled with clotted cream and jams; the petits fours sit at the top. Tea is chosen from a menu of loose leaves and can be changed during the afternoon, so you can pair the savoury course with a full-bodied black tea and the sweets with something more delicate. <\/p>\n\n

Couples or friends find a quiet table near the fireplace; families or small groups share the stand, and time stretches out unhurried until it is evening outside.<\/p>\n\n

Afternoon tea was born in nineteenth-century England as a break between lunch and an ever later dinner, and over time it became a ritual of drawing rooms and grand houses. At Collina the ritual stays the same, with its sequence and its pace, while the atmosphere is that of a mountain home: wood, fire, and the Orobie Alps fading behind the windows. <\/p>\n\n
